Armed middle school student arrested in Miami-Dade

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – Miami-Dade Schools police arrested a student armed with a gun outside Lamar Louise Curry Middle School near Kendall West on Thursday.

According to Miami-Dade County Public Schools, administrators received an anonymous tip-off and officers arrested the student before opening the school at 15750 SW 47th St.

The district released a statement on Friday stating that the student will be disciplined according to the student’s code of conduct. The Florida Department of Education has a zero tolerance policy on guns.
