TAMPA, Florida – A Tampa police officer was involved in an accident while responding to another accident. It happened on Martin Luther King Blvd and North 29th Street in Tampa around 1:30 p.m.
According to a Tampa Police press release, an officer responded to a hit-and-run crash on MLK Boulevard with lights and sirens on.
The police vehicle crossed 29th Street and hit a Nissan Sentra in the back right. As a result, the police vehicle hit a TECO post.
Both the officer and the driver of the Nissan Sentra were rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the police, the accident is still being investigated.
