Although cases continue their multi-week decline, deaths at at least one Tallahassee hospital could top the August record.

In the first 26 days of August, the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, which ended the month with 77 COVID-related deaths, had 67, according to spokeswoman Danielle Buchanan. On September 26, the hospital reported 73.

The hospital did not report any COVID deaths on Friday, but it did admit six new patients. Just over a week earlier, TMH had seven deaths, the highest number of COVID-related deaths in a day.
