Miami man accused of molesting child of his girlfriend Babysat – NBC 6 South Florida

A South Florida man was arrested for molesting a six-year-old girl who was babysitting his girlfriend.

Mario Padilla, 57, is being charged on a minor’s battery and is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

In court on Tuesday, Padilla was ordered to stay away from and not contact the victim.

NBC 6 spoke to Padilla’s friend, who refused to show her face or give her name. She says she doesn’t believe the allegations.

“If I take care of a child, it is because I love them. He is innocent. I tell you, I never left her alone and took her everywhere, ”she said. “I don’t know why she’s accusing him.

The woman says she has babysat the victim for the past four years and says the child never looked like anything was wrong.

“The girl told me one day that she would like to come here. If he had done something to her, she would not be happy to come here,” she said.

Police say the alleged abuse would happen if the victim was alone in the living room with the suspect while the other children were in a separate room.

“She immediately confessed to her mother what happened, and that’s how we found out,” said Kenya Fallat of the Miami Police Department.

The police also believe that the child has been molested on various occasions and that there may be other victims.
