UF should use solar energy, mushroom benefits

UF should use solar

The University of Florida and Gainesville Regional Utilities should work together to replace UF’s existing power plant with a decentralized solar power system in place of the planned natural gas plant by installing solar panels on existing roofs and over other impenetrable areas such as parking lots and garages.

This can be achieved economically through decentralized solar power generation. It is very different from conventional point source generation and requires modification of the power distribution system, including distributed battery generator sets, to provide reliable power when solar power is not available. But it’s worth it.

So far, utilities have placed point source solar power plants over green fields to reduce CO2 absorption and O2 production by the covered vegetation. These green field systems also require additional transmission lines in order to connect them to the power grid. The decentralized solar system is installed where the electricity is consumed and uses the existing distribution system.

Benefits of mushrooms

Thanks to Cindy Swirko for her excellent Gainesville Sun articles on the Sacred Mushroom Summit and Psilocybin Conference at the Thomas Center. Psilocybin is the hottest topic in the world of pharmacy, medicine, and psychology today.

The Brain Institute and the University of Florida Psychiatry Department are doing research. John Hopkins received $ 17 million to build a school devoted entirely to psilocybin research, and Berkeley and a college in England received similar amounts. Silicon Valley billionaires are investing fortunes in growing psilocybin cheaply.

Why? Psilocybin has been shown to regrow brain cells and heal cluster headaches as a weapon against dementia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. The effective rate against opioid, alcohol, and drug addiction is around 85%, compared to almost less than 5% for alternatives.

Microdosing has become common practice in California among Silicon Valley workers because it greatly improves creativity and reduces anxiety. Billions, not millions of dollars of research await research funding for a “drug” that is listed as safer than aspirin and that does not harm organs in the body.

Cooperation with the enemy

March 2020 Donald Trump called himself the “war president” in the fight against COVID. He urged us to make sacrifices together, as the Americans did in World War II. Although he did little to stop the attack, he was right that we must all work together and make sacrifices to defeat this deadly enemy.

We are in a war that has cost as many American lives as any US conflict with foreign enemies since the War of 1812 – and the death toll is increasing every day. We all need to do our part to combat this threat before it evolves into a no-vaccine variant.

In this war, the enemy attacks using our bodies and breath to spread death. Refusing to wear a mask or get vaccinated is helping COVID attack our fellow Americans. It’s like collaborating with the enemy.

Informative articles

The last few articles in The Sun were excellent. The article titled “We Have No Answers” about long-range COVID for children was incredibly informative. And also the school nurses and the virus article informative.

I think The Sun newspaper has increased in quality and therefore in value.

I know this is so old-fashioned, but I love to sit at the kitchen table and read my current newspaper. Thanks very much.
