The Tallahassee City Police Department and Florida State University are working diligently to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for the more than 84,000 visitors who attend home soccer games. To help visitors plan their visit, please see below for information about matchday traffic patterns in the city center.
TRAFFIC DIRECTIONS:
Before the game
Fans are encouraged to use the following streets to access parking on and around the FSU campus.
- Coming from the north, use Stadium Drive to park on the west side of Doak Campbell Stadium and Macomb or Bronough Street to Pensacola Street to park on the east side of Doak Campbell.
- Coming from the east, use Pensacola or Gaines streets.
- From the west, take Pensacola or Tennessee Streets to Stadium Drive.
- Coming from the south, take Lake Bradford Road.
The lights along West Pensacola Street will flash before the game to give priority to traffic going west towards Doak Campbell Stadium. Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) officers will be posted on this route two hours before the game. Traffic signals at intersections near Doak Campbell Stadium could be checked by TPD up to eight hours before the start of the game.
Motorists traveling through the area who are not going to the game should expect delays from two hours before kick-off to about 30 minutes after kick-off (weather delays not included) due to traffic control patterns, particularly along Macomb Street and Copeland Street. These motorists are advised to use Ocala Road and Monroe Street for north-south travel whenever possible to avoid the pre-game traffic patterns near Doak Campbell Stadium.
On two weekends during the season, home games are played at both Florida State and Florida A&M universities. Vehicle traffic will be heavy, especially on Tennessee Street, West Pensacola Street, South Monroe Street, Gaines Street, Lake Bradford Road and Orange Avenue before and after the games. Everyone is advised to allow extra time for the trip Ensure early attendance for the game.
For more information on the incoming and outgoing traffic patterns on matchday, see the attached maps.
Fans can download this too Waze traffic app via SeminoleSafe. All traffic routes on the match day, both before and after the game, are entered into the app in order to provide the most direct routes, taking into account diversions, closures and traffic jams.

- Warrior Booster Lots: 12, 13, 17, 19, 25-29

Boosters can also download the Waze Traffic App from SeminoleSafe. After the game
Upon completion of the game, West Pensacola Street, east of the stadium, may be modified to be one-way only for traffic going east and away from the stadium. The traffic lights along West Pensacola Street from Champions Ways to Duval Street will “blink” to give priority to traffic going east. St. Augustine Street between Varsity Drive and South Monroe Street will continue to flow in one direction only for eastbound traffic and will exit the Apalachee Parkway to divert additional traffic away from the stadium. A detour will be set up to allow fans to exit the game on Madison Street, which flows continuously off Apalachee Parkway, while surface traffic flows north and south on Monroe Street. Traffic heading south on Monroe Street will be diverted to College Avenue to travel under Apalachee Parkway on Franklin Blvd./East Lafayette Street and back to Monroe Street on Gaines Street. Traffic north on Monroe Street will be directed to Gaines Street to pass under Apalachee Parkway on East Lafayette Street / Franklin Blvd. and back to Monroe Street on College Avenue. Fans heading east out of the stadium on Gaines Street will be directed south on Monroe Street.
To give fans priority exiting the area after the game, traffic is prohibited north on Springhill Road / Lake Bradford Road from Orange Avenue to Gaines Street and on Stadium Drive south from Tennessee Street.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays from some time in the fourth quarter to about an hour after the end of the game (weather delays not included) due to traffic control patterns, particularly along Macomb, Copeland, Duval, Bronough and Monroe roads. Motorists who want to avoid the traffic after the game, especially north-south travel, are advised to use Ocala Road and Monroe Street.
Fans can download this too Waze traffic app via SeminoleSafe. All traffic routes on the match day, both before and after the game, are entered into the app in order to provide the most direct routes, taking into account diversions, closures and traffic jams.
COOPERATION: The City of Tallahassee and Florida State University attend numerous meetings in the spring to prepare for the football season. Several initiatives for the Games are listed below:
- TPD will coordinate all traffic lights along Pensacola, Saint Augustine, Madison, Gaines, Stadium and Duval Streets and Lake Bradford Road.
- A gate was installed at the corner of Varsity Drive and St. Augustine Street for Lot 14 (Intramural Fields). This allows better access for pedestrians.
- More signs will be put up in several places. Banners will be posted along Pensacola Street and additional signs will be posted along all routes.
- TPD will be posted on Pensacola Street two hours before the game. TPD will also take control of the traffic lights and intersections once everyone is on the job.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early and allow for some delays. Please follow law enforcement instructions when traveling to and from the game.
FAMU and FSU split home games September 11th and October 2nd.
The SeminoleSafe app is the official mobile security tool from Florida State University. Fans can refer to the SeminoleSafe app under the tab GAME DAY INSTRUCTIONS for real-time updates and additional information for home football games, from direct turn-by-turn directions to the designated booster or general parking lot, guidelines and instructions for clear bags, prohibited items in the stadium and real-time weather data on campus.
