TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – World War II veteran Sidney Walton embarks on a nationwide tour to raise money for frontline nurses and receives this: He is 102 years old.
He dedicates the tour to World War II veteran Tom Moore, who raised $ 46 million for nurses before losing his own fight against COVID-19.
Paul Walton, Sidney’s son, said, “You don’t see tears in my eyes, but there really is an area. Often they fall in my face. I am so proud of my father, he lives longer and longer every day and I am prouder and prouder. “
The tour started in Miami on Monday. Walton hopes to raise $ 46 million plus $ 1 in Moore’s honor.
The tour has fourteen other states to visit, and the Waltons expect it to last two months.
