The chance of rain won’t reach zero this weekend, but the total coverage will decrease on Sunday.
The first half of the day looks dry, great for churchgoers and those with early start times. In the afternoon, scattered showers and a few storms pass through the area.
The best chance of rain is again along the Gulf Coast as we continue to see an easterly wind.
If it doesn’t rain tomorrow afternoon, the highs will hit the lows by the mid-1990s. The heat index values will be back in the triple digits, so be sure to stay hydrated if you plan on spending time outdoors!
Thunderstorms increase in the middle of the working week, with Wednesday and Thursday being the best rainy days.
On the trail of the tropics:
The National Hurricane Center monitors two tropical waves. The first is off the coast of Africa.
The development over the next five days remains low (30 percent) as dry air would slow down any development with this system on the way west.
The second wave is a few hundred miles south of Bermuda. It has a slim (10 percent) chance of developing in the next five days. It’s moving west toward the United States and, regardless of development, could become a rainmaker for parts of northern Florida and Georgia.
