TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Fire Rescue Hazardous Incidents Team was called to the Selmon Expressway after 100 gallons of jet fuel leaked from a tanker truck.
The fuel overflow occurred shortly after 10 a.m. on Friday and closed the expressway.
After noticing the leak, the driver stopped on the hard shoulder and called 911. The Hazardous Incidents Team placed absorbent clay granules along the expressway to soak up the fuel and were ready to use foam in case a fire broke out.
