MIAMI (WSVN) – This year’s Miami-Dade Heart Walk brought people in Miami together to promote healthy lifestyles.
Saturday’s event encouraged attendees to walk and exercise more as they led the community to raise life-saving funds.
Track lengths included a one mile survivor walk, a 5 km walk, and a 5 km run in Maurice A. Ferré Park. located at 1075 Biscayne Blvd.
“I am very excited to be part of this great event, to be here, to be alive and to support the American Heart Association,” said one woman, “who has done so much for me and other survivors around the world “Building the world and being able to save lives, so that is absolutely what we are here for.”
Heart Walk attendees didn’t even have to go downtown Miami. They could attend from anywhere that worked for them.
