NS. PETERSBURG, Florida (WFLA) – Sarah Martinez finally doesn’t flinch as she looks out the window at her garden. She has a new lawn and a new tree – quite a difference from last month after Tree Ninjas Tree Service got the wrong house and felled her tree instead of one for her neighbor who actually hired the company.
“We just wanted him to do what he said the original day and fix the problem,” she said.
Martinez reached out to Better Call Behnken for help when she said the company’s Ronnie Pownall did just a little bit of work mending the garden and then left the family alone.
“And we said to him: ‘Mistakes happen. This is a serious mistake, but we just need to do the right thing and fix it. ‘
The couple wanted their sward replaced, the stump sanded, roots removed, and broken sprinkler heads replaced. They wanted to reassemble the garden and a replacement tree. He came back and did some work, but she still wasn’t happy.
“He said, ‘I just don’t have the equipment, you’re asking too much, good luck,'” Martinez said. “I said, ‘There is a huge root that was there, it sticks out of the ground.’ And he said to me, ‘Well, the root was here before I came here’ and I said, ‘Well, yes, but it was hooked to a tree.’ “
Pownall walked into the store when Better Call Behnken showed up with questions. He later posted a statement promising to fix things.
Weeks later, Martinez says Pownall kept his promise. Martinez says Tree Ninjas Tree Service paid her family not only to install the new tree and sward, but also more than $ 1,000 to compensate them for the work they had to do, such as building a house. B. the grinding and removal of tree stumps and roots.
“I appreciate that you did it,” she said. “He really wanted to join in as soon as he saw you and heard from you.”
