Opinion: Biden’s list of “mistakes” is wrong

Dick Biggs had published a letter to the editor in the November 17-18 issue listing 16 articles that President Joe Biden identified as errors. Things look like scabs to me. I stopped pecking at scabs in the late 1970s. So I’m only going to address some of the “bugs” he identified.

The first is what Biggs calls the southern border disaster. The Statue of Liberty, a symbol of what America stands for, contains the quote “Give me your tired, poor, huddled masses who long to breathe freely, the wretched garbage of your teeming coast. Send me the homeless people who were hit by the storm … “Is Biggs a Christian? Does he take care of his fellow human beings?

Next, he identifies the Afghanistan debacle. The withdrawal of American troops from the country was necessary because of the ignorance and ignorance of President George W. Bush. What a better world we would see if his brother, the unqualified ex-Florida governor, hadn’t enabled GW Bush to be elected.

Biggs then identifies massive expenses. He certainly does not know the quote from George Santayana (“Those who cannot remember the past …”). The aforementioned President Bush came into office with a budget surplus and left my grandchildren with a huge deficit through his unfunded tax cuts.

He also describes the “Green New Deal” as nonsense. He will benefit from being informed that there will be no vaccine against the climate crisis. He has a very short-term view of the future.

Biggs’ comments on the pandemic are an example of his lack of knowledge about pandemics. If our country had been led in 2019 by someone who understood leadership and responsibility, there would have been an epidemic similar to Ebola in 2014, but the disease would not have spread across the planet.

Biggs identifies socialist politics as a flaw. I will ask again, is he a Christian? The most famous and prominent socialist who has lived on our planet is Jesus Christ. That must mean that heaven is run by socialists! Does Biggs despise these socialists and their policies?

He exclaims that climate change (the climate emergency) comes with hysteria and that President Biden’s way of addressing the emergency is stupid. I’m assuming he lives in a glass house that may be destroyed the next time a hurricane hits Gainesville, Georgia.

Biggs expresses his admiration for the 45th President. This invalidates his list of errors from the Biden administration. He blames President Biden for undoing the positive achievements of the 45th President, even though the 45th President was the chief of downfall! The rest of Biggs’ “Schorfen” is not worth addressing.
