A Florida State College of Law alum is tutoring reality star and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian West to pass the bar exam.
West tagged Samuel Arlen Farkas in a May 29 tweet seen by Kardashian’s 69.7 million followers where she said, “studying with @SamuelAlren allllllll dayyyyyy”.
He calls Tallahassee home, according to Farkas’ LinkedIn page, and is Vice President of Instruction and Online Education at The BARBRI Group, a renowned global leader in legal education, distance learning, training and certification.
The Tallahassee Democrat asked Farkas for an interview.
Despite failing the first-year law student exam (aka Baby Bar) for the second time, Kim plans to continue her journey to become a lawyer, according to a June 10 article in USA TODAY.
But first the bar exam.
On a late May episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the reality star revealed that a friend and lawyer, Farkas, was helping her study for the upcoming baby bar exam.
When West caught the coronavirus along with her family, she continued to study video chats with Farkas even after production of the show ceased and she was forced to record herself, according to People magazine.
“At some point we have to break through the subject,” Farkas tells Kim as she tries to study from bed during the episode. “We don’t have to today, Kim, but you know what I’m going to say: do you think we can make it work?”
“Oh my god, my stomach hurts,” she replies. “What if I just fight my way through and just try?”
“The reality is that it comes with a lot of challenges that you won’t face in a perfect world,” he said. “But it’s always your choice. How do you think about it? Tell me what you think.”
Kim tells the cameras, “I thought it would be difficult to make this decision to stick to law school and take this test, but I had no idea I was going to get COVID.”
Ultimately, she blamed respiratory disease for her baby bar outcome.
“If I fail, COVID is everything to blame,” she said before finding out her failed grade.

When the reality star mogul finally passes the bar, she will follow in the footsteps of her father and attorney Robert Kardashian, who famously defended OJ Simpson in the 1995 NFL football star’s murder trial.
