Although the moderators did not share the debate questions in advance, attendees will likely be asked to share their views on the future of the Tropicana Field redevelopment, as well as issues related to justice, police reform, development and transportation.
Candidates who have qualified are: City Councilors Darden Rice and Robert Blackmon; Ken Welch, former Pinellas County Commissioner; former City Councilor and State Representative Wengay Newton; Restaurateur Pete Boland; Small business owner Marcile Powers; Michael Ingram, a political science student at the University of South Florida; Torry Nelson; and Former Candidate for Registered Congressional Michael Levinson.
The area code will take place on August 24th. If no candidate receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the two best candidates will compete in the parliamentary elections on November 2nd.
