GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Gainesville police say 32-year-old Jose Nieves and a 17-year-old robbed several people at gunpoint in a home invasion in southeast Gainesville last Thursday.

They were driving away in a stolen car when the police arrived. The officers chased the couple through the streets at high speed, and eventually the driver fell in front of the Ronald McDonald Charities House. The duo face numerous charges, including armed robbery, heavy battery, aggravated theft, and escape.

Nieves is held on a nearly $ 4 million bond.
