The Tallahassee business is slow to re-require masks under new CDC guidelines

The Tallahassee business is slow to re-require masks under new CDC guidelines

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – With the CDC re-recommending that everyone in our area wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status, some companies say they haven’t dusted off the “Masks Required” signs yet.

“We just do what people feel comfortable doing. We personally don’t wear masks, but if someone comes in here and wants to wear a mask, that’s fine. If they don’t want to, that’s fine too. We have hand sanitizer and say we keep our distance, ”said Savanna Young, a personal stylist at Fab’rik.

Fab’rik is located on Thomasville Road in Tallahassee, and they stick to the customer-centric approach to masks and let shoppers choose.

Young says that during the busiest time, there will be up to a dozen customers in the store at a time, which leaves plenty of room for social distancing.

She says customers of all ages shop in her stores and about half continue to wear their masks.

In the meantime, employees in District 850 haven’t stopped wearing their masks, but they do apply the code of honor when it comes to guests.

“There is no mask requirement for our vaccinated guests. For all of our not vaccinated, we strongly recommend that they wear masks at all times while they walk through the facility, ”said Nicolas Longordo, Assistant Manager at District 850.

He says they still hold half the capacity for their customers, which is around 350 guests.

“Yes, we still practice social distancing. We’re definitely promoting half capacity so we’re watching how many people still come through the doors, ”said Longordo.

He says District 850 will continue to follow advice from the CDC and says the health and safety of its customers is a top priority.

“We make sure that we as a community don’t spread it worse than it needs to be, so our stance is whatever the CDC says we will shy away from it.” We always want to follow the protocol as best we can to make sure guests have a great time and a safe time, ”he said.

For now, the CDC guidelines are recommendations only.

Restaurants and other businesses were not instructed to enforce the wearing of masks.
