MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – A man accused of murdering a woman and burning her body in a U-Haul truck faces multiple charges thanks to surveillance footage that captured the horrific incident.

The 57-year-old accused murderer Allen Thomas appeared in Bond Court Thursday. He is charged with killing a woman, putting her body in a U-Haul truck, and then moving it to another location to be burned to put.

According to the arrest report, detectives could have caught Thomas in the act thanks to surveillance videos.

In the surveillance footage, they saw Thomas pulling a subway haul truck back near the railroad tracks on Northeast 73rd Street and 2nd Avenue just after 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Then he gets up from the driver’s seat and walks to the back of the truck. Suddenly, flames can be seen behind the vehicle. Then, after a few seconds, he drives away.

On Monday, the investigators found Thomas in his apartment with the U-Haul truck parked outside. In the apartment they found several knives, detergents and blood that indicated a fight.

The arrest came as a shock to this neighbor.

“He’s already killed and he’ll do it again if he gets the chance,” said Thomas’ neighbor.

Police also spoke to a witness who said Thomas told them the victim had been dead in the apartment for two days before placing her body in the U-Haul truck and burning it.

Due to the extent of the burns to the victim, the police have yet to clearly identify the victim.

Thomas faces multiple charges, including second degree murder without bail, abuse of the dead, human body with bail $ 7,500, and manipulation of physical evidence with bail $ 5,000.
