There will be a new fastest man in the Olympics who will be crowned on Sunday if the 100-meter run is run without it Usain Bolt in the final for the first time since 2008.

The favorite for the gold is the American sprinter Tray from Bromell, a 26 year old from St. Petersburg. The race is the marquee of the Olympic Games and rounds off a busy night in the Olympic Stadium.

Newly crowned Olympic all-around winner Sunisa Lee will try to expand their medal win in the uneven bars finals while the Americans Jade Carey and MyKayla Skinner are medal threats in the jump finals.

Here are some things to check out (all east):

athletics

There will be a new gold medalist in the Olympic Games marquee race, and it could be an American to take the place vacated by Bolt’s resignation.

Bolt has won gold in the men’s 100m three times in a row, but he’s gotten further in his life now and there is a chance for a new star. Bromell doesn’t have the boast that Bolt does, but he’s got speed.

The 26-year-old from Florida is a humble sprinter in a showman event. Bromell is the favorite in Sunday’s gold medal race. He is challenged by his teammate Ronnie Baker, Andre De Grasse from Canada and Akani Simbine from South Africa.

Bromell won US Olympic victories and also has the best time of 2021 at 9.77 seconds. The sports books believe that Bromell will win and he is the favorite for the gold.

The Olympic Stadium will be the centerpiece of coverage of the Tokyo Games on Sunday evening, with medals also in the women’s 100-meter hurdles and the men’s long jump. NBC’s prime time coverage begins at 7:00 p.m. and will also include the women’s diving springboard finals and an elimination match in women’s beach volleyball.

gymnastics

Simone Biles takes another night off in Tokyo, where she was unable to compete due to mental health problems. She withdrew from the women’s team final, the women’s all-round competition, and will not take part in the uneven bars or the jump on Sunday.

So it will be a freshly crowned Olympic all-around winner Sunisa Lee try to improve their loot in the uneven bars finals. Lee and Belgium Nina Derwael are the favorites on the podium.

American Jade Carey and MyKayla Skinner scored two of the four best results in the jump during qualification and will both be medal threats in the finals. Skinner made it to the final when reigning Olympic champion Biles was eliminated.

Medals are also awarded in the men’s floor exercise, pommel horse and distilling rings. The coverage will be live at 4am on Peacock with encore presentations during prime time coverage on NBC.

basketball

The US women’s basketball team has continued its quest for a seventh consecutive gold medal since Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi lead the Americans in the last group game against France.

The women are 2-0 in the group game. The game against France will air at 12:40 p.m. on the USA Network.

For the men, Slovenia is in the foreground against the reigning world champion Spain.

Luka Doncic had spectacular Olympics for Slovenia and is the top scorer in Tokyo; The Slovenian men’s national team is always 15: 0 when he is in the line-up.

The game will determine the winner of Group C and secure a place in the top four in the quarter-finals – but both Slovenia and Spain will reach the quarter-finals, win or lose. The game is on the USA Network at 4:20 a.m.

In another remarkable action

The women’s beach volleyball elimination rounds will be broadcast live on both NBC and CNBC starting at 8:00 p.m. in prime time

Novak Djokovics The search for the Golden Slam ended and the world’s best tennis player left Tokyo without a single medal. Alexander Zverev from Germany Djokovic has knocked off and will play Karen Khachanov of the Russian Olympic Committee in the gold medal match live for late viewers on The Olympic Channel with an afternoon replay on USA Network.

The US men’s water polo team plays Greece live at prime time on CNBC, which also broadcasts the men’s beach volleyball elimination round and the men’s fencing team’s foil final.

CNBC will also be hosting live the women’s field hockey quarter-finals and the women’s bronze and gold double badminton games.
