Cape Coral mother charged with neglect after her 7-month-old daughter took fentanyl

A Cape Coral mother was charged with neglect after her 7-month-old daughter was unresponsive after taking fentanyl.

Patrina Gordon Miller, 30, was released from Lee County Jail on Saturday on a $ 30,000 bond and will be charged on August 16.

Cape Coral Police went to the Miller’s home after discovering the child was not breathing.

Police found the child unresponsive on the living room floor and began life-saving efforts until a Lee County rescue team took over the CPR.

LCEMS transported the child to the hospital because they were not breathing.

More crime news from Southwest Florida:

After the hospital found that the child was unresponsive with respiratory arrest and pinpoint pupils, they were given a dose of Narcan, which is used in the event of an opioid overdose.

The child immediately cried and her pupils dilated and further tests showed she was positive for fentanyl, police said.
