Florida man attacks, rapes tourists at Rodeway Inn in NW Miami-Dade – NBC 6 South Florida

A South Florida man faces multiple charges after brutally assaulting a couple vacationing at a local hotel, an arrest report said.

Travon Smith, 22, allegedly attacked the tourists at the Rodeway Inn in northwest Miami-Dade. Both tourists are said to have been in their late 60s.

According to the arrest report, Smith knocked on the tourists’ door at 3:26 pm on July 10th. He is said to have squeezed into the hotel room and hit the first victim several times in the face and finally pushed him to the ground. Smith then “bit his teeth on the neck,” the report said.

At that point, the victim’s wife arrived and saw her husband lying on the floor with Smith. Before she could contact the police, Smith slapped the woman in the face and then yanked her hair to the nearest elevator, the report said.

On the second floor of the hotel, Smith forced the woman to have oral sex. Then he continued to beat her and strangle her “to the point where she lost her eyesight,” the report said. Smith allegedly tried to continue rape the woman when police arrived and took him into custody.

Both victims suffer serious injuries. Smith was arrested and charged with kidnapping, sexual harassment and burglary with assault or assault.
