Happy Thursday Southwest Florida!

Less chance of rain gives way to higher temperatures this afternoon. All of our viewing area will reach the 90’s for heights of 5-15 mph winds from the east.

We are going to lose a large part of our tropical moisture today. The highest levels of residual moisture are found in many of our southern communities. That will still be enough to fuel three-digit heat index values for these locations.

There are only a few chances of rain today. Patchy storms form in the early afternoon and last until sunset.

We will slightly increase our probability of rain until Friday, before significant chances of the forecast come back this weekend.

On the other hand, the high temperatures this weekend will be a little lower due to the increased chance of rain.

Boaters today can expect light to moderate choppiness on the water, with wave heights of 1-2 feet.

We are observing a weak disturbance in the North Atlantic. This has little chance (10%) of forming within the next five days. Regardless, the disruption will NOT have an impact on the United States as a whole.

The next name on our list of names for Storm 2021 would be Fred.
