The Iranian navy reaches St. Petersburg

The Iranian ambassador in Moscow announced this and added that the naval commander of the Iranian army, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi, will also take part in the naval parade on the occasion of the Russian Naval Day in St. Petersburg at the invitation of the Russian Defense Minister.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Khanzadi will also meet high-ranking representatives from the Russian armed forces and the Russian Defense Ministry, added Kazem Jalali.

The naval parade in honor of the 325th anniversary of the Russian fleet will take place tomorrow on the Neva in St. Petersburg. According to the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, 54 ships are planned to pass through, including frigates from Iran, India and Pakistan.

On Friday, the Iranian envoy Jalali met with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin to discuss military and defense cooperation between the two countries.

At this meeting, the presence of the Iranian naval fleet at the parade of the Russian navy in St. Petersburg, the prospects for defense and military cooperation between the two countries as well as regional developments were discussed.
