Drunk speedster arrested after colliding with a St. Pete police car, SPPD says

According to the police, the shooting in St. Petersburg left life-threatening injuries

NS. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – St. Petersburg police arrested a man Saturday morning after allegedly hitting a stopped police cruiser, a spokesman said.

The department said the officer was stopped at the intersection of 34th Street and 1st Avenue North when a speeding vehicle ended his cruiser in the back, causing it to crash into the car in front of the officer.

The suspect, 34-year-old Henry Scott, tried to escape but was arrested. He is now charged with DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of the accident with property damage, nonviolent resistance to an officer, and possession of marijuana.
