Chop Shop is a weekly summer show with commentary on hot local and national sports topics from barber shops. This week’s debates came from the hairdressers at Greatness Barbershop.
The barbershop is more than a place to get a haircut, line up, or beard cut. It’s a social lounge with open and unfiltered conversations about everything from politics to personal matters.
In this mix, sports debates are a frequent topic of conversation.
The banter encompasses all areas with passionate opinions, predictions of a season and trash talk that teams favor or dismiss.
Greatness Barbershop – located at 1350 E. Mahan Drive – fits that bill with an eclectic mix of fans. Last weekend, the barbers and patrons shared passionate comments from the legacy of former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden to Big Bend Preps Football.
Chris Bailey – Tallahassee Barber
As a Miami Hurricanes fan in Tallahassee: “I love being a Miami fan. FSU used to beat us a lot. We took an advantage over Florida State. I let FSU fans know whenever I got the chance. They.” were nearly beaten by Jacksonville State last year. “
Outlook Miami Dolphins 2021: “I like Tua (Tagovailoa) as a quarterback. He’s a good athlete. We’ll be fine this year. We have wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in the draft from Alabama. He’s fast. Tua played with him in college.”
Lincoln Trojans: “We’re going to be straight and 6A national champions. We only lost to Rickards in the regular season and to Atlantic Coast in the playoffs last year. My son Chris is a sophomore at Lincoln. I love Jimmie Tyson as head coach.” . “
