TALLAHASSEE, Florida (WCTV) – To mask or not to mask?

The debate about wearing masks in schools continues as Governor Ron DeSantis explains his plans to ensure that Florida public school students at this upcoming school are maskless, despite recommendations from the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics that these students considering children are wearing masks 12 and are not yet vaccinated.

A Tallahassee resident shared his opinion on the debate.

“I think it has to be mandatory to wear the masks simply because it has to be one thing to keep safety and regulations and everything down and just keep the spread down,” said Patrick Ford. “I think it is is definitely necessary. “

Leon Country Schools is sticking to its plan, decided in mid-June, to have a voluntary mask mandate this school year. LCS Superintendent reaffirmed this plan in July.

Local groups are now demanding the implementation of a mask order at schools in the district.
