Steely Dan will play two shows at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg

Jazz-rock legends Steely Dan will be on the Absolutely Normal Tour ’21 from May 15-16. Bring October to the Mahaffey Theater for two concerts. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m.

Steely Dan was founded in the early 1970s by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen. Becker died in 2017, but keyboardist and lead singer Fagen continues to tour under the nickname Steely Dan.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are known for their distinctive sound and hits from the 1970s and 80s, including Reeling in the Years, Rikki Don’t Lose That Number, Peg, and Hey Nineteen. After their reunion in the early 1990s, they toured the decade and released a live album, Alive In America, in 1995. In 2000 they released Two Against Nature, a Grammy-winning album.

In September Steely Dan will launch Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live! publish. At the same time, Fagen will release The Nightfly Live, a live recording of his 1982 solo album, played live by the Steely Dan Band.
