The contract includes $ 6,000 per year for a personal vehicle and a moving allowance of up to $ 5,000. Parrish starts with 40 hours of paid vacation and counts toward 10 years of service for vacation, which means she receives 12.3 hours of vacation per month according to the contract.
If at any point she is fired by the city, her severance package would earn her six months of her base salary, or about $ 65,000. Parrish would not receive severance payment if the dismissal was for a felony conviction or human resource violation, which would warrant immediate termination, the contract states.
Vickie Short, who has served as the interim city manager since Andrew’s departure in May, will accept a position as a Barrow County county clerk, she told the Times on Thursday. Short has been with Flowery Branch for nine years, previously as a town clerk, and she will take up her new position on December 20. She notified the city that she was leaving on November 22, Short said.
Short did not apply for the vacancy as a city manager.
Sheila Cooper was named town clerk by the city council on Thursday. Cooper had been the assistant town clerk since May, prior to which she was a utility clerk. Cooper joined the city in July 2019.
Cooper’s starting salary as an employee is $ 62,667.
