A murder suspect from Chattanooga, Tennessee, was arrested Wednesday morning in a Tallahassee Walgreens parking lot.
Paul Hayden, 52, was arrested “for murder” by US Marshals Florida Caribbean’s regional refugee task force, according to a press release.
Wednesday’s arrest was the culmination of a search that began on June 29, the day a man was shot dead in Chattanooga.

Hayden got into an argument with another man that escalated into a fatal shootout, the press release said.
The next day, U.S. marshals took over the case and soon learned that Hayden may have been hiding in the Midway area.
On Wednesday morning, the Florida regional task force – which includes MPs and officers from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the Tallahassee Police Department – began monitoring a home owned by one of Hayden’s family members.
At 9:30 a.m., Hayden was seen leaving the house, according to the press release. He got into the passenger seat of a car that was being driven by a woman. A small child was sitting in the back seat.
Investigators followed the car to Leon County and eventually Tallahassee.
The officers arrested Hayden in Walgreen’s parking lot on the corner of North Monroe and John Knox Road. He was taken to Leon County Jail for his pending arrest warrants, the news release said.
Task Force officers work with U.S. marshals to target the most violent offenders in the Tallahassee area.
This was the 20th arrest for murder and attempted murder the task force has made in Tallahassee since January 1, according to Marty West, assistant in command of the US Marshals Service.
As of the New Year, Task Force members have tracked and arrested 133 violent refugees in Tallahassee, he added.
