PUTNAM COUNTY, Florida. – The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Tampa gang member after threatening a local family.

The sheriff’s office said there had been an argument between the gang and the victim’s son. The detectives learned that one or more people from Tampa were out and about and began pursuing the suspect.

When Jean Clyff-Candy arrived in Putnam County, several MPs tried to stop traffic. Then a chase began on County Road 310 and County Road 315 at speeds of up to 100 mph. The chase ended when Clyff-Candy’s car crashed and rolled over on County Road 315 near the Marion County Line.

The investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from Georgia and that there were several firearms, including a rifle, in the car.

Clyff-Candy, 26, was arrested and charged with gross stalking, written death threats, and possession of a gun by a convicted felon. The investigation continues to determine if more suspects are involved and more charges are expected.
