MIAMI – Jesús Luzardo allowed a hit and no run in more than six innings, and the Miami Marlins beat the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 to win their series rubber game.

Luzardo has had his best outing by far since being acquired by Oakland’s Starling Marte at close of trading.

The left-hander made a career high with eight strikeouts.

Jesús Sánchez beat a double homer in the first, his sixth homer of the year and his second in two days.

Miami won the last two games in the series after losing 11 straight to Cincinnati in the past two years.
