Forecast: Less Storms Monday – ABC7 Southwest Florida

Forecast: Less Storms Monday - ABC7 Southwest Florida

Monday marks the beginning of a trend of lower rain chances for southwest Florida.

In the late afternoon we will have a few isolated showers and storms. With the late rain start time, the highs will extend well into the deep 90s. Emotional temperatures rise in the three-digit range thanks to the additional moisture.

The chances of rain become more isolated until Thursday as an onshore wind sets in for the area. This will force higher chances of rain towards the interior and east coast. The onshore wind could help the elevations drop to the upper 80s or close to 90 degrees for most of the area.

The wind will turn back by the weekend to increase our chances of rain again.

On the trail of the tropics: Ida hit land in Louisiana as a Category 4 storm. Tropical Storm Julian and Tropical Depression 10 are both swirling in the open Atlantic, but neither is cause for concern. You can read more about these three Here.

There are two other regions that we are watching for development. One of them is a shower area off the east coast of the United States. It has little chance of gradual development as it drifts away from the US.

The second area to be observed is in the eastern Atlantic off the coast of Africa.

A tropical wave will leave the continent and there is a high possibility that it will undergo tropical evolution in the next 5 days. It’s nothing to worry about at this point, just something we’re watching.
