The City of Gainesville welcomes Andrea Agha as the next Deputy City Manager

Gainesville City Press Release

The City of Gainesville welcomes Andrea Agha as their next assistant city manager; she will start in her new role on August 30th. Most recently, Agha served as CEO for the Village of Key Biscayne and as Deputy City Councilor for the Town of Miami Lakes.

“I’m very excited to have Andrea join the City,” said Lee Feldman, Gainesville City Manager. “Her knowledge of local government, coupled with her passion for public service, is a great addition to an already great team,” he said.

Agha takes over the tasks from Phil Mann, who has been working as Interim Assistant City Manager since last autumn. Her duties include overseeing the city’s technology and innovation departments; Transportation and mobility; Public works; and the Office of Capital Asset Planning and Economic Resilience.

“I look forward to getting started, meeting and learning from people,” said Agha. “I want to help make the city’s strategic vision a reality for all of its neighbors,” she said.

Under her leadership in the Village of Key Biscayne, the available funding level increased by approximately $ 122 million.

In the city of Miami Lakes, she led the development of the city’s strategic plan and helped develop and implement a number of infrastructure improvements, including the city’s LED street lighting remodeling project, a sewer stabilization project, rainwater and road improvements, and the construction of a Gold LEED certified, $ 4.45 million asset.

Agha is a graduate of Boston University and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Miami. She is ICMA Credentialed Manager of the International City / County Management Association, Envision Sustainability Professional by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure and FEMA certified by the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS).

Agha and her husband Leslie Walker have two children, Seth and Satya.
