Upper Arlington High School Upper School Avery Catalano made an oral commitment to swim at Miami University in Ohio. The sprinter, who swims at the Upper Arlington Swim Club, will be inducted into Miami’s class of 2026.

At the Central, East & Southeast District Meet in Ohio in 2021, Catalano took fourth place in the 100 and 200 freestyle. She also won second place in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard chest, and 100 yard freestyle in the Ohio Swimming Long Course Summer Challenge. Catalano has futures cuts in the 50s and 100s freestyle and the 100s breaststroke. Your best short course times are:
- 50 freestyle: 23.91
- 100 freestyle: 51.41
- 100 breaststroke: 1: 04.85
- 200 freestyle: 1: 51.52
Miami University is a Division I school of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Miami University finished third of eight teams at the 2021 MAC Swimming and Diving Championships. At the meeting and with her best times, Catalano would have reached the B final in the 100 and 200 freestyle.
Catalano will join Jenna Halliday and Madison Saldanha in autumn 2022.
