NAPLES, Florida – The body of a missing swimmer was found in Naples.
Matthew Britton’s body was found by the Collier County Sheriff’s Marine Bureau around 9 a.m. north of Gordon’s Pass.
His body was found underwater, about 100 to 150 feet offshore on the 3900 block of Gordon Drive.
Britton was last seen swimming on Saturday afternoon when witnesses said he did not get out of the water.
Several fire departments and law enforcement agencies have teamed up to search for Britton. His body was taken to the coroner’s office for further examination.
Officials used boats, divers, and air forces to assist in the search.
