NS. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – A St. Petersburg man and several minors were arrested by MPs after being found 36 pounds of marijuana in a crash, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office.
A sworn affidavit stated that Eric Cleon Williams, 21, and one other unidentified person fled a traffic stop on Haines Road and 54th Avenue North Wednesday morning, only to overturn their vehicle.

After MPs arrested Williams and the teenagers, MPs decided to search the vehicle after smelling marijuana.
In a likely search for the cause, two suitcases with numerous bags of marijuana weighing about 36 pounds were found, according to an affidavit.
Williams was later arrested in a county jail for possession of contraband after MPs from the Pinellas County Jail found around a gram of marijuana on him.
