TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Hillsborough neurosurgeon has been charged with homicides after police said he hit and killed a cyclist on Lizard’s stern street in early November.
Police say Philip Henkin, 59, drove his 2016 Tesla over the speed limit three times when he turned a corner in the oncoming lane and hit and killed a cyclist head-on before crashing into a tree.

According to official information, the driver was killed immediately.
Police previously told 8 On Your Side that the speed limit near the accident was 20 mph.
Records show that Henkins’ alleged erratic driving was videotaped from a neighboring store. He was later charged with vehicle homicide, posted in Hillsborough County Jail on November 6, and released the same day on $ 7,500 bail.
