Where to Find Christmas Trees in the Tampa Area in 2021

TAMPA, FL – As the country recovers from the coronavirus pandemic and looks back on the plight of last year’s holiday season – which brought a lot of social distancing – families will reunite in 2021 and search for the ideal Christmas tree.

Growing around 350 million in all 50 US states, at least 25 million of which are cut and sold each year.

The American Christmas Tree Association is advising buyers to get a tree earlier than usual this year. The supply of trees will be scarce due to delays in the supply chain and a poor growing season in the Pacific Northwest.

If a real Christmas tree is on your wish-list this year, here are a few great local farms near Tampa:

• Great Lakes Christmas Tree Farms, 1701 E. 2nd Ave. Tampa, has a wide variety of freshly cut Christmas trees, poinsettias and freshly cut wreaths. You can place an online order for pickup or delivery on the website by calling 813 238-8733 or visiting seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Christmas Trees in Tampa, 9450 Westchase Drive, Westchase, offers fresh Christmas trees straight from the farm. Fresh wreaths are also available. Christmas Trees in Tampa is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• Dave’s Christmas Tree Lot, 106 E. Lumsden Road, Brandon offers a variety of freshly cut, affordable trees. Choose from noble firs, Fraser firs, grand firs, Douglas firs and pines. Poinsettias and wreaths are also available. It is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Visit their website or call 813-843-8182.
• Tampa Bay Farmers Market, 1718 W Fletcher Ave., Tampa, offers fresh trees from the Great Lakes Christmas Tree Farms listed above. It is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit their website or call 813-876-7888.
• Tree Brothers Christmas, at the Oldsmar Flea Market, 180 Race Track Road in Oldsmar; at The Grove in Wesley Chapel; and Keystone Prep High School, 18105 Gunn Highway, Odessa, offers freshly cut trees, Christmas wreaths, decorations and gifts. There will be pictures with Santa at Keystone Prep High School on Saturday, November 27th, 1pm to 3pm. There is also an artificial ice rink. Ice skates are included in the 30-minute sessions, which cost $ 10 and are 50 percent cheaper on Mondays. The opening times are seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• Mike’s Christmas Trees, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverview, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mike’s offers premium, freshly cut trees from Northern Michigan, fresh wreaths, swags and centerpieces that are handcrafted on site, as well as free candy canes and coloring books for the kids.
• Fancy Fir Christmas Trees at Bay to Bay Boulevard and Dale Mabry Highway is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fancy Fir offers Frazer firs from Wisconsin, New York, and North Carolina along with fresh wreaths.
• Green Mountain Christmas Trees, 9715 N 56th St., Temple Terrace, offers blue spruce, Douglas firs, Fraser firs, Grand firs, Noble firs and Scotch pines from tabletop sizes up to 4.50 m high along with fresh poinsettias and wreaths. The opening times are seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Gallio Family Christmas Trees, 4518 Manhattan Ave. Tampa, right outside St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, features a variety of trees with delivery and setup, tree stands, fresh wreaths, and cute handcrafted reindeer. The opening times are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• McP’s Trees will sell Christmas trees in three locations this year: Westchase Elementary School, 9517 W Linebaugh Ave., Tampa; Sickle High School, 7950 Gunn Highway, Tampa; and Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church, 2902 W Fletcher Ave., Tampa.
