Tampa Bay Area High School Football Region Finals Capsules (7 Games)
Up to seven teams could be berthed in the Tampa Bay areaS. in the respective country semi-finalsS.. We have game pods for every game with Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco Programs. All games are expected to kick off at 7:30 a.m. P..m.
Class 7A
Wharton (9-2) at Tampa Bay Tech (12-0): This game is one in a series of rematches taking place across the Tampa Bay area, and the Wildcats and Titans bring two stubborn defenses to the table. the Wild cats Shutdown nationally recruited running back Richard Young and Lehigh, 36-0. Tampa Bay Tech Quarterback Xavione Washington has played some of its best football games lately, now with 1932 yards and 19 touchdowns this season.
Class 6A
Hillsborough (10-2) with Jesuits (12-0): As I said, there are a lot of rematches from the regular season. Jesuit got the best of Hillsborough, 28-7, during the regular season. Now, after the playoff blowout, Boca wins Blind (50-0) and Bradenton Braden River (49-9) roll the Tigers. Jesuit quarterback Luke Knight has thrown 1,818 yards and 23 touchdowns and a running back associate Smith stormed for 1,541 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. The Terriers are playing their third straight playoff game after winning Pinellas Park (33-27) and Sumner (28-7).
Class 5A
Sebring (8-3) at Clearwater (11-1): Clearwater had it easy in the first two rounds of the playoffs, but the region’s final is the toughest test since Lakeland at the season opener. The Blue Streaks will enter Jack White Stadium with a balanced offense led by signal caller Cameron Kimbrell (927 yards, 10 touchdowns) and running back Travis Kerney (1,001 yards, 12 touchdowns). They are countered by Clearwater quarterback Aidan MacLean, who has hit a Pinellas County record of 41 touchdown passes.
Class 4A
Clewiston (8-2) in Lakewood (10-2): The Spartans won a 27:12 win over the Glades Central Raiders last Friday, but now a strong Clewiston Tigers group is coming to town. The Tigers have a very efficient passing attack led by Senior Zomarion Harper, who threw 1,429 yards, 15 touchdowns and only one interception. On the Other side, Lakewood quarterback Anthony Colandrea had a very good season, throwing 24 touchdowns and 2,748 yards.
Class 3A
Clearwater Central Catholic (8-3) at Berkeley Prep (10-0): Another of the four rematches in the region. The Buccaneers were the winning team in the first encounter. Berkeley Prep won 35-21 and have done it was behind a tough, stormy attack and a strong defense all year long. Dominick Ciao’s team averages 9.2 points per game and scores 40 points per competition. The CCC defense will have their job stopping running backs Xavier Townsend (950 yards, 16 touchdowns) and Travis Bates (1,307 yards, 16 touchdowns).
Class 2A
Zephyrhills Christian Academy (9-2) in Orlando Christian Prep (9-1): This game is another rematch from the regular season. ZCA needs a big game of running back Dontrevius Jackson (1,803 yards, 18 touchdowns) for the school’s first-ever semifinal spot. Senior Adrian Miller III replaces injured starter Jaycee Nixon as quarterback.
Northside Christian (7-2) at the Naples First Baptist Academy (9-1): The Mustangs hosted a team from Naples in the region’s semi-finals and will now travel to southwest Florida against the First Baptist Academy. Eighth grader Will Griffin had a great first season at the helm, throwing 2,232 yards and 27 touchdowns. He has established himself as a potential size that could break school and district records.
