Gators secure the hosting rights for the first and second round of the NCAA tournament

Florida is number 16 overall and will host the first and second rounds on December 2nd and 3rd.

GAINESVILLE, Florida – Florida ranked number 16 overall for the NCAA tournament on Sunday night when the Division I women’s volleyball selection committee unveiled the 64-team field during an ESPNU televised broadcast.

This is the 27th time in program history that the Gators have received host rights for the first weekend of the NCAA tournament. With the selection, Florida expands its streak to 31 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, the nation’s third longest streak (Penn State – 41, Nebraska – 40).

Florida hosts its NCAA first and second round games on Thursday and Friday. The Gators will face Florida A&M at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, while Miami and South Alabama will battle it out at 4:30 p.m. The winners of each game will meet on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Last season – the Gators made it to the program’s 16th regional championship – they fell back to # 1 in Wisconsin in an exciting five-set battle.

Florida ended the 2021 regular season with an overall record of 20-8 and a record of 14-4 in league play.

TICKET INFORMATION | GAINESVILLE FIRST AND SECOND ROUND

Current volleyball season ticket holders can now order their current seats by logging into their Florida Gators account and have their currently reserved seats for NCAA Round One and Second Round games until 5:00 p.m. ET on Monday reclaim. For holders of season tickets with general admission as well as for the general public, general admission tickets for the first and second round of the NCAA will be available online at 8 a.m. on Monday in the Gator Ticket Office between the gates (follow this link to purchase). 1 & 2 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 352-375-4683. All season tickets that have not been picked up will go on sale from Tuesday at 8.30 a.m.

Your credentials can be obtained from Will Call (Gate 1 of the Exactech Arena in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center) one hour before the first serve of the opening game on Thursday and one hour before the first serve of the game on Friday.
