Police are trying to find a man who was caught on camera robbing the same dollar store in south Miami-Dade twice while swinging a baseball bat.
The Dollar General’s first heist at 22500 Southwest 112th Avenue occurred on November 10th, Miami-Dade police said.
Police said the man went into the store and threatened the employees with a baseball bat while demanding the keys to the cash register.
The man smashed the cigarette case with a hammer and removed a few packs of cigarettes before escaping the scene on a bicycle with the store’s cash register, police said.
A few days later, the man returned with a baseball bat and threatened an employee to open a cash register, but was unsuccessful, police said. He stole the employee’s cell phone and fled the scene.
Both incidents were captured in surveillance footage released by police on Monday.
The footage shows the employee throwing objects at the suspect during the second robbery.
Investigators are looking for the suspect, who they describe as between 30 and 40 years old.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
