Six players Miami Football should target on the transfer portal

The Miami soccer program is in transition with a new athletic director hiring over the next few weeks, followed by a decision on future head coach Manny Diaz. Miami will also have a roster in transition during the 2021 offseason. The Hurricanes will have multiple positions to fill during the 2022 offseason.

Miami needs to add players on offense and defense as well as linebackers as primary positions. The 25 best players on the transfer portal were published by 247 Sports earlier this week. Some of the players will be a good fit for Miami. Former Hurricanes security Gurvan Hall is ranked 17th by 247 Sports.

Six Miami scholarship soccer players are ineligible. Others could return for the 2022 season but will likely move on. The defensive and offensive lines will be the hardest hit units of the Miami soccer team with losses from the 2021 roster. Miami also needs to improve its talent and productivity at LB.

Cornerback, defensive line, quarterback and wide receiver are the three strongest positions in the 247 top 25 rankings. Miami has returned QB Tyler Van Dyke and has plenty of talent at WR. The Hurricanes need WR depth but have other positions that are more glaring than wideouts.

Miami will have to rebuild its OL during the 2021 offseason. Starting center Jakai Clark is probably the only returning starter at the orienteering. The Hurricanes have players planning on starting out but needing depth. Miami could lose up to four DL during the offseason. There’s one that TE Miami has already targeted on the portal.
