The ALS Foundation is hosting a walk in Tom Brown Park

On Saturday, December 11th, 2021, the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association invites the entire Tallahassee community to take part in our annual Walk to Defeat ALS. Last year the ALS community did not join the fight, but instead organized individual hikes. This year we will surely meet at Tom Brown Park to collect support to defeat ALS together.

What: Everyone will be able to unite safely and socially while walking a few laps of beautiful Tom Brown Park. To participate, register a team by contacting Michelle Decker at mdecker@alsafl.org or 888.257.1717 x130.

When: 9 a.m. registration; 10 a.m. hike begins; Saturday, December 11th, 2021

Where: Tom Brown Park, 443-557 Easterwood Drive

why: Now more than ever, the Florida ALS community needs help to fund research that will lead to breakthroughs in treatments and, ultimately, a cure for this deadly disease. Participation in the Tallahassee Walk to Defeat ALS® benefits local care services, resources, and more as the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association continues to care for people with ALS in Florida.

ALS gradually paralyzes its victims, attacks nerve cells and pathways in the brain or spinal cord and robs them of the ability to walk, speak and ultimately breathe. With no known cause or cure, we are gathering nationwide support to change this and in return offer a great experience.
