FORT MYERS, Florida – From beautiful beaches to vibrant nightlife, there is something for everyone in southwest Florida, which is attracting more and more tourists and business people.
“It’s basically been the season since last summer and that has lasted,” says Melissa Schneider.
Lani Kai’s Marketing Director said.
Lani Kai Island Resort said its rooms have been filled since it reopened last year.
“The Lani Kai has been full or almost full since then,” she said.
The beach is also filling up and that brings more money to our area. In part, the Lee County Clerk said because of the 5 percent bed tax.
“With the tourists and the extra tax that has to be paid, it is wonderful that we know they are helping the community and businesses and residences. It helps everyone succeed together,” said Schneider.
The clerk said that money helps with upkeep on the coast and in the local stadiums, and we are told that it brings work too. One in five jobs in Lee County is in tourism. Some at Lani Kai to meet the high demand.
“We’re almost fully booked for January, February and even March,” she said.
