CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Residents at 17th Terrace in Cape Coral said Lee County deputies, a dive team, and the Cape Coral Police Department swarmed their neighborhood on Wednesday.
“I just got home for lunch and saw a handful of sheriffs, probably 4 or 5, Cape Coral cops, a couple of dive teams, they cornered everything there,” said resident Zachary Shannon.
Shannon said dive teams were looking in the canal that runs behind his house.
Neighbors told NBC2 that MPs had asked about surveillance videos from last week.
Now this community is left with a lot of questions.
“As a homeowner, you want to know what’s going on in your neighborhood,” said resident Ricky Eaton.
We are working to confirm this with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to find out what they were looking for.
