School principals say the art project is a Thanksgiving tradition.
NS. PETERSBURG, Fla. – For the past six years, students at Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg have spent their Thanksgiving break giving back to the community.
According to Pinellas County Schools, this year was no different.
The high school’s Mural Club put the finishing touches on an art project on Friday that pays tribute to the culture and history of the area. The students were working on a mural for the St. Petersburg Distillery, located across from the high school.
Headmasters say the tentative title for the mural is “Raising Local Spirits”. It shows the area’s natural resources and teaches local folklore and history, said the club’s organizer, Brian McAllister.
