Baton Rouge rappers Fredo Bang and Lit Yoshi were arrested in Miami

MIAMI (WVUE) – Two rappers from the Baton Rouge-based group, Top Boy Gorilla or TBG, have been arrested by federal agents in Miami.

Fredo Bang, real name Fredrick Givens, was arrested on July 22nd with an arrest warrant from Louisiana. It is unclear what the warrant was for, possibly parole violation.

Bang was arrested in 2016 for opening fire on a man during an argument outside a Baton Rouge apartment complex.

“The Bang Man” was scheduled to perform at the Rolling Loud hip-hop festival in Miami Gardens on Friday. He is now threatened with extradition.

TBG rapper Lit Yoshi, real name Mieyoshi Edwards, was also arrested on Wednesday in Miami with an arrest warrant from Louisiana.

According to court documents, Yoshi shot a vehicle in Baton Rouge in 2020 and hit one of the three inmates.

The two men live together in Miami.

TBG was involved in a longstanding feud with the crew of NBA YoungBoy “Never Broke Again”.

YoungBoy is currently in prison in St. Martin Parish awaiting trial after being arrested in Los Angeles earlier this year.

According to the Miami Herald, Miami-Dade County detectives sought the couple for questioning for two years after a passing car opened fire on YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gaulden, and his entourage outside Trump International Beach Resort in Sunny Isles Beach.

Youngboy’s girlfriend was shot and wounded, three innocent passers-by were striped, and a rental car clerk, Mohamad Jradi, 43, was killed by a stray bullet across the street.

No one was charged in the Miami-Dade shootings.

Prosecutors believe that Edwards and the TBG group were involved. A Louisiana judge ruled in February that evidence from the shooting against Edwards could be used in his upcoming trial.
