TALLAHASSEE, Florida (WTXL) – If you scrolled through social media on Thursday, you probably saw someone say something about NIL. Thursday was the first day athletes could capitalize on their name, image and likeness, and many did not waste a moment capitalizing on it.
Florida State quarterback McKenzie Milton and several of his teammates signed autographs for over an hour at Miller’s Ale House in Tallahassee Thursday, and they got paid to do so. Milton has been open about the NIL legislation. He founded Dreamfield with Miami quarterback D’Eriq King. The mission? To help every athlete benefit and do so from NIL.
“I just hope that we can touch any athlete in college sports and they can do what they want with it,” he said on Thursday. “I think the main thing is to help these athletes capitalize on this new era of college sports.”
“We know these are young men and women who, ages 18-22, haven’t had this real-world experience,” said Dreamfield Co-Founder and CEO Luis Pardillo. “We make sure that everything is handled properly for them. It’s a one-stop shop and very easy to use.”
