MIAMI GARDENS, Florida. – The Miami Dolphins announced today that they have placed tight ends Cethan Carter, Mike Gesickiand Adam Shaheenon the reserve / COVID-19 list.
Carterjoined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent on March 18, 2021. He has played in 46 career games with five starts in four seasons (2017-20) with Cincinnati. Carter has completed a total of seven career receptions for 66 yards (9.4 average) and one touchdown. He also has 26 career special team stops (17 solo). Carter originally joined the NFL on May 5, 2017 at Cincinnati as an undrafted college free agent.
Gesickihas played 47 games with 21 starts over three seasons (2018-20) with the Dolphins. He has 126 career receptions for 1,475 yards (11.7 average) and 11 touchdowns. Gesicki’s 703 yards in 2020 was the second most narrow-ended in Dolphins history, ranking fourth among the NFL tight ends that season. He originally entered the NFL as the second round pick (42nd overall) from Miami in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Shaheenjoined the Dolphins on July 26, 2020 in a trade from Chicago. He played in all 16 games with five starts for Miami in 2020, a total of 12 receptions for 150 yards (12.5 average), and three touchdowns. Shaheen has played in 43 NFL games with 18 starts, a total of 38 receptions for 399 yards (10.5 average) and seven touchdowns. He originally entered the NFL as the second round pick (45th overall) from Chicago in the 2017 NFL Draft.
