TALLAHASSEE, Florida (WTXL) – A pastor from Tallahassee wants to use the power of basketball to make a difference more than 150 kilometers away.
Perry Dissmore is pastor of Freedom Church and shoots 50,000 free throws in 50 days to raise money for the construction of a basketball court in Sri Lanka.
Dissmore has raised more than $ 45,000 for its goal to date and is hoping to finish strong the next 5 days to help those in need.
“We will use this to teach children about basketball, to use this for church camps, possibly to use this as a meeting place for the church,” said Dissmore. “I was over there in Sri Lanka and it’s a small, poor country, but that will be a blessing to them and they will use this to be a blessing to the kingdom of God.”
