TAMPA – There is a growing connection between the Tampa Bay area and the Land of Israel when it comes to technology companies.
Dr. Oren Milstein believes in Tampa so much that he brought his company and family here.
“Many want to move to Tampa. It has become a magnet. Regardless of the business environment. It is really a destination with quality of life. “
Milstein is the CEO of StemRad.
An Israeli company that makes radiation protective equipment for doctors, first responders, the military and even astronauts.
StemRad found its way to Tampa thanks in part to the Florida-Israel Business Accelerator known as FIBA.
His office is in the Glazer Jewish Community Center.
And they say they have now helped more than 60 Israeli companies expand into Florida.
“These companies are here now. They manufacture in Florida. You are hiring high-paying, high-tech jobs. And in some cases they will move their leadership with their families to the Tampa area, ”said FIBA Marketing Director Rakefet Bachur-Phillips
Tampa is doing very well for StemRad.
They have partnered with NASA and Tampa General Hospital, and have received support from Lightning owner Jeff Vinnik.
“It’s the right size. It’s not too big, not too small. So you have a network that is extensive enough. But not so big that you can’t reach people, ”said Milstein.
The Israeli innovation includes everything from USB drives to WAZE navigation apps. The next accomplishment could come from one of those tech companies based in Tampa Bay.
